One of the most adventurous as well as scenic overland tours in Nepal is the Rara Lake Tour via Mangma (Manma). Rara Lake is found within Rara National Park in the Mugu District at Karnali Province at an elevation of around 2990 meters above sea level. Day 03: Mangma to Rara (Jupal airport)
Drive between Mangma (Manma) and Rara lake is one of the most beautiful and adventure like parts of Rara overland tour. The route begins at Mangma, the district headquarters of Kalikot, the historic Sinja Valley, over narrow mountain roads, alongside rivers, forests and isolated villages. The road grows rough and off road in sections as the drive which provides a genuine Himalayan travel experience.
The Talcha airport area is the typical destination of vehicles, which travelers walk 30-45 minutes to reach the Rara Lake. Visitors to the lodges on the lakes can walk a bit further on the gorgeous lakeshore path. The initial glimpse of the deep blue water of the Rara Lake, which is best encircled by alpine forests and hills is quite spectacular, and the journey between Mangma is therefore an experience to remember and enjoy.
